What's Too Big to Know?

Too Big to Know is a new book about information overload and organization by David Weinberger, of the Harvard Law School Library Innovation Lab. And it's sure to make my list of the top books of 2012.

Weinberger contrasts the old hierarchy of data -> information -> knowledge -> wisdom, maintained by credentialed experts who filter and distill, with the new internet model where formal credentials matter less if at all.

For anyone interested in how the web has changed knowledge, and how it may affect the progress of science and universities, take a look.

Also check out Race Against the Machine, a quick read about exponentially growing computers and the impact on human jobs.
